Quail Unlimited’s University of Georgia Student Chapter Excels

Quail Unlimited’s University of Georgia’s Chapter recently completed their second annual fundraiser in Athens. The chapter was organized by college students last year and attendees and supporters are primarily from the Athens area. The UGA student chapter was the first-ever collegiate chapter to be chartered by Quail Unlimited. Since then, at least four other collegiate chapters have been formed. T.J. Callaway IV, has served as chapter chairman for both years and has compiled an impressive list of accomplishments during his tenure. Callaway, a senior from Thomasville, said “When I first initiated the chapter as a project, I did not realize the magnitude of the response from fellow students and the local community.” He continued by acknowledging the support of the local Northeast Georgia Chapter of Quail Unlimited and stated, “I really appreciate their support and guidance and know that the funds that we have been able to raise will be used to support the mission of Quail Unlimited.” This year, Callaway and his chapter were able to increase their net income over 36 percent from last year and have begun to evaluate possible projects to fund in the coming year.
